Portable terminals with bar code readers
- sutiable for performing the physical inventory. It is a portable computer somewhat larger than a mobile phone provided with sufficient memory for storing of up to 75 000 items of fixed assets. Portable terminals are equipped with specialized software for inventory execution.
Inventory - the appliaction is included in the portable terminal and it allows for fast, efficient fixed assets inventories. It handles the anticipated data and is able to indicate all assets transfers. For each asset item, it registers information regarding location, date and time, but can also record serial number, brief notes, and further details. Upon departure from the site, it is possible to display the list of items not found for instant verification. The application is always customized according to the particular client's needs.
BarCom - communication software that enables data transfer between computer and portable terminal. At the beginning of the inventory process the anticipated data (fixed asset database) is loaded into the terminal, then during the actual inventory or at its end all the collected inventory records (items found) are transferred from portable terminals into computer. The resulting data may be generated in CSV format, which can be displayed in Microsoft Excel application, or other formats. It is equipped with a 'batch' mode, making it suitable for integration into other appliactions (e.g. Inventory XLS application).
Inventory XLS – application for easy data processing with Microsoft Excel XP/2003/2007. The fixed assets database is displayed in a well-arranged spreadsheet, and by using the BarCom program is transferred into portable terminals. Inventory outputs are then recorded back to the Inventory XLS application which allows continuous checking, inventorial print-offs etc. This program is suitable especially for operation with multiple portable terminals and it is customized to the client’s needs in order to enable data exchange within the client’s information system.
