Solutions for on-site data collection generally include the following:
Portable terminals with bar code readers
- portable computers, somewhat larger than a mobile phone, provided with considerable memory for the storing of extensive databases. Portable terminals are equipped with customized, specialized software.
Customized data-collection software
- developed according to the needs of the individual client, and drawing on our extensive experience in the field. It is designed to provide simple control over specialized tasks while minimizing the possibility of human error affecting the data collection process.
BarCom - communication software that
enables data transfer between computer and portable terminal. The resulting data may be generated in CSV or other formats, which can be displayed in Microsoft Excel application. It is equipped with a 'batch' mode, making it suitable for integration into other appliactions.
Software data processing
- depending on the task, data from portable terminals can be processed locally (e.g. using Microsoft Excel or Access based applications), or client-server solution may be applied, whereby data is transferred by secure channel onto a server where they may be further processed within a central SQL database, presented on-line, etc.
